New Visitors Centre Planned at the Maharishi European Sidhaland

Report by director, John Collins

When next visiting the Maharishi European Sidhaland in Skelmersdale, how would you like to stay in purpose built, self-contained accommodation, next to the Dome and built fully in accord with Maharishi Sthapatya Veda? If all goes according to plan, this will soon be available.

Our aim is to give all our visitors the best possible experience and maximum choice, whether on a course in the Dome, having Maharishi Ayurveda treatment or just visiting and looking around. So the new Visitors Centre is being designed.

The building will be built fully in accord with the ancient design principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. It will have an auspicious East entrance, correct proportions and placement of rooms a Vastu fence. Currently the plan is to build a long single storey building in the North garden of the Dome. This would consist of about 6 single and two double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and kitchenettes.

Visitors spend a total of about 1500 nights each year staying at the Sidhaland. Up till now they have almost all been accommodated in the homes of Sidhaland members. This gives guests the opportunity to meet people here and has proved very popular over the years. So this kind of arrangement will certainly continue. Nevertheless some visitors also express the desire for self-contained accommodation so they can be fully self-sufficient. The Visitors Centre will give this option.
