Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, under whose guidance and inspiration the Maharishi European Sidhaland was established in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire in 1980. The Maharishi Golden Dome, a purpose-built facility for the daily practice of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying and a venue for residential and day courses. Maharishi School provides consciousness-based education, which develops the full potential of the student, and is regularly the top GCSE school in Lancashire, and scores in the top 1% nationally. The Maharishi European Sidhaland, an expanding community dedicated to individual enlightenment and World Peace with several hundred members. Maharishi Ayurveda Health Centre provides prevention-oriented, consciousness-based health care programmes including diagnosis, treatment, education and the promotion of longevity. Finding Employment

Most jobs are easier to research find if you are already living in Skelmersdale because you are already on the spot for interviews.

We will be happy to give advice and suggestions to help you find work, though in practice the actual process of the job search has to be conducted mostly by yourself. For new members moving to the Sidhaland from non European Union countries you will need to research the possibilities of obtaining a work permit for the UK. (See Overseas Visitors).

To contact Maharishi European Sidhaland companies please mail/email a copy of your CV to reception@maharishi-european-sidhaland.org.uk ) with a covering letter indicating the type of work you want and whether it is part time or full time.

Your CV and letter will then be circulated to the appropriate Sidhaland companies.

Many MES members work outside the community within a 50-mile radius, or work away during the week and return at weekends.

Agencies and local Jobcentres provide up to date information online about local jobs. If you don't have access to the Internet at home, your local library may have a free Internet service.

Work-study
