Learning Transcendental Meditation and the TM-Sidhi programme
"As a teengager in the 1970’s, I was reading lots of spiritual, esoteric books. A month after finishing school, in 1976, I learnt Transcendental Meditation (TM). I then wanted to learn the advanced TM-Sidhi programme. In 1980, I graduated with MA (Hons) in History from Aberdeen University. But the event of the year for me was not graduating from university, but becoming a Sidha. My birthday wish for 1980 was to be in a Sidhaland."
Living in Maharishi European Sidhaland
"One month after I completed the residential course in Yogic Flying, someone I had befriended from the course phoned me and told me about the Maharishi European Sidhaland (MES) in Skelmersdale, so I went. I lived in MES from 1980 until 1999. I had no special jobs. My reason for being in the Sidhaland was the group programme, knowledge meetings and courses."
Dubrovnik Peace Project – Helping to Prevent the Outbreak of Global Conflict
"In 1999-2000, I participated in the Dubrovnik Peace Project for eighteen months. It was the time of the Kosovo Crisis, a very precarious time for global security. As Maharishi himself acknowledged, the project calmed the crisis, brought peace to the region, and averted the prospect of a third world war. I enjoyed group programme tremendously, and also spending time with other Sidhas from around the world – from Europe, US, China, and Russia. The Mediterranean scenery and climate were also enjoyable."
Purusha – Group Meditation as a Full-Time Profession
"When the Peace Project ended, I decided that focussing completely on my own development of higher states of consciousness, and creating coherence in world consciousness was what I should do with my life. I went to Lvov in Western Ukraine to join the Maharishi Purusha Programme. A group of Mother Divine and a Maharishi Vedic University were also there. Ukraine is very cold in winter, with lots of snow! I spent two years in Ukraine, and then time also with the Purusha group in the mountains of Crimea, and after that in Seelisberg, Switzerland. All this time, I have noticed the same human race everywhere I go, and all the people in Maharishi’s worldwide Movement on the same path to enlightenment."
Joining a Large Group of Purusha in Perfect Vastu – a Very Expansive Feeling
"In 2004 I joined the Purusha group at The Spiritual Center of America, North Carolina. There are 180 Purusha there – it is a very expansive feeling to be in such a large group of Purusha. Also, when I moved into my perfect Vastu room at The Spiritual Center, I noticed that my thinking became more orderly. All the facilities, including the Programme Hall and dining room are built according to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda, so it is very nice. Most recently, I’ve enjoyed living in Denmark with a group of fifteen Purusha there, including five members from Great Britain. I now feel the desire to re-join the big group of Purusha at The Spiritual Center. I have always aimed to be very much on the programme and routine. I feel that this has created the right atmosphere for me to achieve the required financial self-sufficiency."
A New Year Wish from Purusha for all Members of Maharishi European Sidhaland
"I’ve enjoyed my visit to the Sidhaland, to see friends and offer them the chance to share in the Purusha experience by supporting Purusha. My wish for my friends in 2006 is for everyone in the Sidhaland to be established in perfect Vastu, and as a Purusha I hope to help them on the level of consciousness towards their goals."
10,000 Purusha – My Ten-Year Goal
"I feel I have established myself as a dedicated Purusha. I always aim to follow Maharishi’s instructions to the letter. I feel very happy and fulfilled with life as a member of Purusha. The bliss of the transcendent is far more enjoyable than any relative enjoyment. It is just a question of exposing ourselves to that transcendental bliss. As to my own long-term goal, it would be nice to be part of a Purusha group of 10,000 in ten years from now. Jai Guru Dev."
