Maharishi Sthapatya Veda architecture stipulates that the main entrance to all buildings should face east, because the energy from the sun is at its greatest and most vital when rising, thus bringing greatest benefits to the health and vitality of the family.
Not only is the orientation towards the east the most auspicious but as the sun moves across the sky, it radiates different qualities of energy that produce specific qualities on different parts of the house. Accordingly buildings are designed so that these energies correspond to specific activities - there is a suitable place for the living room, the kitchen, the dining room, the study etc.
Right Proportions
