Transcendental Meditation™ - Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat is Transcendental Meditation (TM) ?Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural, effortless procedure to allow the mind to easily and naturally arrive at it's settled state Transcendental Consciousness, pure consciousness.TM is practised for 15-20 minutes twice a day sitting with the eyes closed. The deep rest to mind and body gains, allows mental and physical stress to be released naturally. During meditation you experience the source of thought, self-referral consciousness, the source of all creative processes. This experience develops creativity, dynamism, orderliness, and allows you to use more of your potential and leading to greater success in daily life. Is it difficult?No TM is very easy - it works with the nature of the mind to seek greater levels of happiness. It is a completely natural, effortless practice. Is Transcendental Meditation compatible with religion ?During the past 50 years, millions of people of all religions have learned Transcendental Meditation, including clergy of all religions. Individuals report that the technique reduces stress, purifies the nervous system, and enhances their ability to more fully appreciate their own religion and follow its precious tenets. How is Transcendental Meditation learned ?Transcendental Meditation is taught all over the world by qualified teachers trained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in a standard seven step course.
