Public VisitorsHow to VisitMany people who hear about the Maharishi™ European Sidhaland from friends, the press or from TV, would like to visit the project to see the Maharishi™ Golden Dome, the Maharishi™ School, the Maharishi Sthapatya Veda™ buildings, or the Maharishi Ayurveda™ Health Centre. Visits can be arranged by prior appointment, and each facility has its own contact person who will explain the best times to come, what you can expect to see and directions of how to get here. Arrangements can also be made for press interviews, photo opportunities and TV film crews via our Directors. Special EventsFrom time to time we arrange special events open to the public, for example Maharishi™ Gandharva Veda concerts, and we also host conferences to which relevant special interest groups, members of government and professionals are invited. Four Directors, each with responsibility for different areas of the project, oversee the administration of the Maharishi European Sidhaland. Maharishi Golden DomeThis is where members of the Maharishi European Sidhaland practise Transcendental Meditation™ and the TM-Sidhi Programme®, including Yogic Flying™, twice daily and where meditating visitors come for residential and day courses. You can contact Sheila Read in Reception on 01695 728847 on weekdays from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm, or email Maharishi Ayurveda™ Health CentreMaharishi's prevention-oriented Vedic Approach to Health is available at this facility including consultations with resident and visiting Maharishi Ayurveda™ physicians and Vaidyas, residential and one-day courses of treatment, and an extensive programme of health education. Skelmersdale is also home to the national distribution centre for Maharishi Ayurveda products, including food supplements, personal care products and books, tapes, CDs and videos on Maharishi's Vedic Science. Maharishi SchoolMaharishi School offers Consciousness-Based Education™ for children age 4-16 and welcomes visits during class time from educators, parents and those interested in experiencing first hand the benefits of this unique system of education. Maharishi Sthapatya Veda™ BuildingsMaharishi Sthapatya Veda is the Vedic science of building in complete accord with Natural Law to promote health, wealth, and harmony for the individual occupants and for the surrounding environment. The Maharishi European Sidhaland contains examples of public and residential buildings designed using the principles of Sthapatya Veda including the Woodley Park Centre for Sports and Arts and two private houses. There is also a project, at the planning stage, to build a 60-dwelling estate with adjacent business accommodation and health facilities. For details please contact John Renwick 01695 729603. TM-Sidha Visitor InformationWe very much hope that while you are visiting the Maharishi™ European Sidhaland you will take the opportunity to join the group practice of Transcendental Meditation™ and the TM-Sidhi Programme® in our beautiful Maharishi™ Golden Dome. Pat Marshall, London Visiting procedureTo make your visit as smooth as possible, please follow the procedure below (at least one week before you arrive): 1. Inform the MES Course Office by telephone, email or letter, of your name, the date and location of your flying course, and your planned arrival and departure dates. 2. If it is your first visit, ask your local Maharishi Invincibility Centre™ Chairman to fax us a letter of recommendation 3. If you have changed your name since doing your TM-Sidhi course, please also include your name when you did the course (for example, you may now have a married name). 4. Send a passport sized photograph so that a programme pass for the Dome can be made for you in advance. This information will enable us to obtain clearance for you from the TM National Office. (Or from the International Course Office for visitors from overseas). 5. If you have visited within the past 6 months we do not need your TM-Sidhi course details. TM-Sidhi Programme pointsBefore joining the group TM-Sidhi programme you will need to be given the programme points by a Governor in the Course Office. This will allow you to adapt your home programme to the one followed in the Golden Dome, so that everyone is in step to create maximum coherence. The course office closes at 4.30 p.m., so please arrive at the Dome by 4.15 p.m. to receive your TM-Sidhi programme points, accommodation details and a Dome pass, which you will need to show whenever you enter the Maharishi Golden Dome. If you are arriving for morning programme or over the weekend, please arrange in advance when to get the programme points etc. CostsSee Visitors' badge fees (purple panel, bottom right) Overseas VisitorsApplication procedureFor a visit of less than one month, all Meditators and Sidhas must complete and return (by post or fax) a Maharishi™ European Sidhaland Visitor Application Form, which includes a National Leader/National Office recommendation This form should be sent to arrive here at least 2 weeks before you intend to arrive. Before you come please telephone again to confirm that we have received the necessary International Course Office clearance for you to take part in the group TM-Sidhi programme®. For a visit of more than one month, a full Membership Application form must be completed and returned. Again, we must receive this at least two weeks before you intend to come. When you arrive, you will be given temporary membership of the Maharishi European Sidhaland. Work and Visa situation for overseas visitors From E.E.C. Countries Citizens of the following countries have full reciprocal rights with regard to employment, social security and health care benefits in Britain: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden. From other countries Citizens of other countries should make enquiries at their nearest British Embassy or British Diplomatic Mission. The regulations for the issue of work permits are very strict. The applicant must have an offer of a job from an employer in Britain before arriving in Britain, and permits are only issued for jobs requiring a high level of skill or experience for which there is no local person available. The permit is applied for on behalf of the individual by the company in Britain that wants to employ them. Work-studyThere are some limited opportunities for work-study, but these need to be discussed in advance before you make arrangements to travel to the Sidhaland. ??
